Howard & Davis No. 1 Regulator Wall Clock, Boston, c. 1860, rosewood-grained case with turned wooden bezel over the 12 1/2-in. painted iron roman numeral dial with seconds bit, hinged waist and base doors with half-round moldings frame the black and gold reverse-painted glasses, the lower opens to the weight baffle and tie-down. Signed/Die Stamped 8-day movement w/deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, Geneva stop & regulating assembly. Original cast iron weight and pendulum w/ over sized bob, 50″ overall.   You are welcome to pick up the clock in person.   Shipping is FREE on this clock and it will be delivered in lower 48 states only, no AK or HI sorry.   I will select an appropriate Fine Arts Mover that will pick up the clock at my shop Adams Brown Company Cranbury NJ and bring it to your home.   The schedule for pickup and delivery TBD after you have purchased the clock and it might take several weeks to get it to you depending on your location.   This is the safest way to transport a clock like this.  I will remove the weight and BOB from the case and wrap/pack it separately to protect the clock during transit.

An original clock that has never been refinished. Wonderful Faux Rosewood Grained Cherry Frames. The movement has been completely overhauled and runs great. Die Stamped Movement. 2 original guide posts in the backboard perfectly align/mate with back plate. Side clips that stabilze the movement have been relocated over the years during previous servicing. Original Hands. The frames are original and all numbers match “31.” Original Dial with some in-painting and strengthening to the black in places. Bezel has a repaired separation/crack. Original tie down/weight/pendulum/cast iron weight. The original bottom glass was cracked (I still have it and it go with the clock if you want it) Lee Davis did an outstanding job matching the throat tablet on an original/wavy glass that looks great. Backboard has a shrinkage crack, minor hairline at the bottom of the head. Old repair to lower frame at the hinge. Minor dings/scuffs that you find on a 160 yr old clock
