Seth Thomas Plymouth Connecticut Wood Works Stencil Column & Carved Splat Mahogany Shelf Clock Circa 1830.    These clocks are fairly scarce these days and this one retains both original glasses: top and bottom, original stencil decoration to the columns, blocks and splat, original label, original works, orginal bob, original weights, etc.  The putty holding both glasses is undisturbed, and the upper glass has a hairline crack in it from 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock.    The case has never been refinshed. The wooden dial is original and there are no extra holes in the dial and the spandrel decoration is original.    The label is in excellent condition and very readable: PATENT CLOCKS Invented by Eli Terry, Made and Sold by Seth Thomas.     The clock has incredible carved paw feet, carved pineapple finials, and the BEST carved splat with punch star decoration.  The movement is complete and is in excellent condition, and runs & strikes fine and has been professionally serviced by Tom Powers of Lambertville NJ,  but sorry no guarantees after shipping.    The clock retains the original  weights, original pendulum bob, and original winding crank.   Even the side case lock & bone escutcheon are original. Please see the numerous high resolution photos that tell the whole story.     The door latch and hinges are original as well.    The backboard is original to the case and undisturbed.     Some very minor dings, veneer chip in the top molding etc..  All in all, a nice crisp, original example.    The cast iron bell is original as well.   This is a fairly large clock overall: 31 X 17 1/2 X 5 "

Shipping/packing/insurance on this clock is fixed at $ 90 in the lower 48 states, AK/HI additional costs.    Count on our legendary, BETTER THAN PROFESSIONAL PACKING which means that the clock will arrive safely at your door in a brand new, thick walled cardboard box.   The door will be removed from the case and wrapped separately to prevent any damage, and the weights will be boxed and shipped separately.     All photos C.2008 Adams Brown Co.
