Circa 1840 Boston MA Wood Front Banjo Clock with original frames, original wooden panels (lots of old repair dates in pencil on the back of the bottom panel), original dial, hands, movement, cast iron weight.   The movement is "textbook" Sawin & Dyer, Boston with steel crutch, and mounting "ears" on the back plate.   Note the push button latches on the bezel and box door.    The reverse scroll wooden sidearms are original as well.  Note the "arrow" markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9 which are original and a period detail.    Even the winding crank is original.   All in all a truly wonderful example with choice figured wood selection.      SOLD 10/28/03
