Elmer Stennes, Weymouth MA<\/h1>\n

\"\"<\/a>It\u2019s amazing the fascination that so many collectors have for the clocks made by the late Elmer Stennes of Weymouth Massachusetts. By now his story is well known to collectors and the tragic events in his life and the lives of his family members. I am presenting this clock for the purposes of information as it is a 100% original clock.\u00a0 Some of the features that\u00a0define his work during the\u00a0late 1960’s – early\u00a01970\u2019s include\u00a0the use of the E. Howard & Co. #5 movement die stamped Elmer Stennes, the cast lead weight with the Stennes die stamp, cast lead pendulum bob with the \u201creverse\u201d ES initials, and\u00a0the glue blocks in the lower block are die stamped \u201c19 on the left side and\u00a068 on the right side identifying this clock as the\u00a0nineteenth clock made in the year 1968 the year of the murder.\u00a0 All of the beautiful cast brass hardware and finial all made from patterns fabricated by Elmer, and you may not realize that he was a \u201cpattern\u201d maker in the 1940\u2019s and worked in the coastal shipyards \u00a0and learned this trade at that time.\u00a0 You can also witness he numbered frames designating the number of the clock and the #22 on the suspension bridge of the movement matches #22 on the front plate of the movement.\u00a0\u00a0The dial pan is a heavy iron plate\u00a0with silk screen decoration.\u00a0 The clock measures 34 inches overall.<\/span><\/p>\n
