David Wood Shelf Clock by Foster Campos
Mahogany ‘David Wood’ Shelf Clock by Foster Campos, Pembroke, Massachusetts, with carved fret top and three brass finials, painted iron Arabic dial signed Foster S. Campos, Pembroke, Mass., quarter columns flanking the inlaid door, and eight-day weight-powered timepiece movement with “passing strike” on the hour, ht. 34 1/2 in. The clock has a wonderful finish and patina. The clock comes with a winding crank and a door key to open the bottom door. The clock is all original. Very few of these were made and they were very expensive. Foster was a good friend of mine, and I remember when he first introduced this model over 25 years ago. They were $3500 back then and you had to wait to have one made. If you don’t have 100K + to buy an original David Wood Mass Shelf Clock, this one will certainly make you happy
