Six-Ball Torsion Pendulum “YEAR” Clock
Mid 19th Century Mantle clock made in Bellville New Jersey C. 1850 and marketed in New York City on Cortland Street. This novel design employed the use of bi-metallic temperature compensation. This is the original model “D1” The clock is in an outstanding state of preservation: finish, dial, makers label, ornamental trim pieces. On the label are printed instructions for regulating the timepiece. The clock work mechanism is mounted in the upper section of the case with massive springs with twin fusees
