Aaron Willard Boston C. 1820 Weight Driven Banjo Timepiece with untouched original signed painted iron dial. This example also retains its original turned “acorn” finial & crotch Mahogany tablets. The genesis of the “ear mounted” Boston movement is from the Aaron Willard Sr. shop while John Sawin is serving his apprenticeship in the studio. The steel hands with barbed tips are consistent with the 2nd Generation clocks. An original cast lead weight & pulley powers the clockworks. Cast brass bezel w/ 2 retaining screws on the hinge and cast brass sidearms are original to the clock. Runs strong
