Seth Thomas No. 1 Rosewood & Walnut Regulator w/RARE oversized trapezoidal movement

Seth Thomas C. 1890

9

Seth Thomas Regulator No. 1 C. 1890. The Rosewood & Walnut case w/a pair of acorn finials flanking the base. Both glasses are original and the box tablet has a Silver border. Nickel plated weight, pulley & bob w/engine turned finishing. Original Black ST label in the bottom. The hands in the “Maltese”style are original and found on other “special” Seth Thomas Regulators including the No. 7. But the most important feature that distinguishes this model from all of the other Seth Thomas No. 1 & No. 2 wall clocks is the oversized trapezoidal movement. Note the position of the pendulum bob in the case. The 5 1/4 X 4 1/4 Seth Thomas No. 3 movement is geared to 80 BPM and features heavy steel deep cut pinions throughout and a Graham dead beat escapement. The painted Zinc dial is original to this clock and there are no extra holes behind the dial. Once again, another “special” feature as the position of the seconds bit and the winding arbor are quite different from all of the other No.1,  dials and perfectly match the alignment of the No.. 3 movement. The movement recently serviced, running, keeps perfect time.
