C. 1815 Kidney Dial Shelf Clock

First quarter 19th C. Mass shelf clock from Coastal New England: 42″ high, eight day weight driven timepiece, Boston dial with gilt decoration. Early barbed steel hands. Original feet, crest & fret, antique cast brass eagle “topper.”  Chalk inscription on the Pine backboard. Refinished case Mahogany case with curly Maple banded lower panel.    The brass works have been completely disassembled, cleaned, polished, and the clock runs great after the  overhaul.  A cast iron weight powers the movement.    The painted iron dial is original to the clock and has been gently cleaned.
