Lucius Bradley
Salem Bridge 8-day brass movement pillar & scroll shelf clock by Lucius Bradley. Watertown CT Circa 1820’s. Outstanding original painted iron dial in the “Boston” manner attributed to the shop of Curtis & Nolen. Compound pulley/weight system, note the top of the case. Makers label pasted to backboard. Original tablet w/some in-painting in the sky. Original feet, finials, scroll top, weights, bob, winding crank. Historic first finish. Note the makers label with the emphasis on “BRASS CLOCKS” to clearly distinguish the maker of this clock with the wood works offerings by other makers. Overall, an excellent example of a rare piece of American Horology.
