E. Howard #58-8 Walnut Victorian Weight Driven Regulator Clock C. 1880. This is the “smallest” of the three Howard 58’s with the 8″ painted iron dial. The overall dimensions of the clock are 40 X 12 1/2 X 5 3/4 inches. To my “untrained” eye, this is the nicest of the three sizes and the one that “looks the best” hanging in a room setting. The case with first finish is in excellent condition and bears the die stamp “78” on the door frame. Dial & movement appropriately signed by the maker & the original cast iron weight die cast “5” as well. The original tubular pendulum rod w/ silver decoration retains its original nickel plated bob with fancy engine turned “damascened” surface decoration. Movement overhauled in our shop, runs strong.
