Martin Cheney Tavern Wall Clock, Windsor, Vermont, c. 1810, Mahogany case w/ ebonized turned wooden bezel that frames a wonderful convex glass. 16-in. heavy painted iron dial marked “M. Cheney/Windsor Vermont,” The hinged lower door with “bulls eye’ aperture opens to the pendulum box with protective weight baffle. Eight day brass movement in the manner of J. N. Dunning (note.. we have a 16” Dunning Tavern clock in the shop at the moment with a closely related clock movement). The clock retains its original cast iron weight. 33 in.
